INTRODUCTION
The IADC RIG PASS is a standardized safety orientation program designed for individuals who work in the drilling industry. It is intended to ensure that all personnel working on a drilling rig have a minimum level of safety awareness and understanding of basic rig operations. The program covers a wide range of topics, including an overview of the drilling industry, rig equipment and components, safety and environmental policies, personal protective equipment (PPE), rig operations, emergency response, and role-specific training.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
This course will:
- Provide participants with an understanding of the common hazards and risks associated with drilling operations, including those related to equipment, environmental factors, and human factors.
- Teach participants how to recognize and respond to potential hazards, and how to work safely and effectively on a drilling rig.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting awareness, accountability, and effective communication among all personnel involved in drilling operations.
- Ensure that participants recognize the importance of complying with industry regulations and standards related to rig safety.
- Provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively in the event of an emergency or incident on a drilling rig.
